SchoolDietitian provides educational sessions and activities on a range of important health topics. We can facilitate small food production projects and work with school facilities to conduct kitchen classes using simple and nutritious recipes. Discussion with students is encouraged throughout to fully engage learners.
Schools can select singular topics or opt for the 10-week program structured to leave students with essential food and health knowledge. Each session is approximately an hour in length, depending on the topic covered and activities undertaken.
The 10-week program starts with the fundamentals - what is health? - and moves through what a balanced diet looks like. Macro- and micro-nutrients are covered and their role in our body. We delve into healthy snacks and get hands-on in the kitchen with cooking basics. Hydration, physical activity, food labels and mindful eating are also covered.
